1. When Seconds Matter: The “ACT FAST” Rule

Sign What to Check Immediate Action
A irway & Breathing Is the person conscious and breathing? Call 911 if impaired.
C onsciousness Confusion, inability to respond, slurred speech? Note onset time.
T rauma / Pain Visible injury or chest pain? Keep still; do not give food/drink.
FAST (Stroke) Face droop, Arm weakness, Speech slur, Time to call 911 Call within 5 min of symptom onset.

Golden Rule: Call emergency services first, then notify family—never delay care to gather belongings.


2. Hour-by-Hour Action Timeline
